Terms and Conditions

Rates are

- quoted, invoiced and payable in ZAR
- quoted per adult sharing per night
- subject to a 50% supplement for rooms/tents occupied by one adult
- inclusive of all meals, two games drives, selected beverages, return transfers between welcoming lounge & lodge, tourism levy and 14% vat
- subject to change without prior notice

* We recommend a minimum stay of two nights throughout the year

Children Policy

* This policy applies to all persons from 0 up to and including 11 years old
* Persons from 12 years & older are considered as adults and will therefore require their own room/suite at the applicable rates
* Persons under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris
* Children are accommodated at Gondwana Lodge only
* Child rates are:

- applicable whether children share a room with adults or not
- inclusive of meals, non alcoholic beverages, activities (age dependant) and the 'Kids on Safari' program

* 0 - 3 year old

- are accommodated at no additional cost
- may share with adults, depending on the availability of cots and/or rooms with a sleeper couch
- are not permitted on game drives

* 4 - 11 year old

- are accommodated at 50% (half) of the adult sharing rate
- may share with adults, depending on the availability of rooms with a sleeper couch
- are permitted on game drives

* Sleeper couches can accommodate a maximum of one child each
* Cots can accommodate a maximum of one child per cot
* Rooms accommodating children sharing with parents contains one sleeper couch per room
* Child minding are done by lodge staff and can be arranged at an additional cost

Travel Information Insurance

* We highly recommend that travel insurance is taken out

Transfers / Gate Times

* Transfers can be arranged with reservations on request at additional costs
* All transfers are handled by accredited car hire and charter companies
* All transfers must be arranged prior to arrival
* A complimentary transfer from the welcoming lounge to the different lodges is available on request and must be booked at least 72 hours in advance; please contact reservations in order to book these

- arriving guests are picked up from the welcoming lounge at 12h30 or 16h00 (guests arriving on the later transfer will not be able to join the afternoon game drive)
- departing guests are picked up from their lodge to be back at the welcoming lounge by 12h30

Payment

* 25% Deposit will be required within 14 days of reservation being made
* Balance will be required 30 days prior to arrival
* Full pre payment will be required at time of booking for reservations made within 30 days of arrival

Cancellations (Peak Season: 20 December - 10 January)

* Only written cancellations will be accepted.  Ensure to receive an acknowledgment of cancellations from reservations
* 50% of fee if cancellation less than 60 days prior to arrival
* 100% of fee if cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival

General

* Only written cancellations will be accepted.  Ensure to receive an acknowledgment of cancellations from reservations
* 25% of fee if cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival
* 50% of fee if cancellation less than 15 days prior to arrival
* 100% of fee if cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival

Methods of Payment Accepted

Location   R62 between Montagu & Barrydale, Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, Western Cape

From Cape Town

An easy 3 hour drive, approximately 270 kms from Cape Town. On commencement of the journey, travel on the N1 from Cape Town in the direction of Paarl; continuing on the N1 travel through the Huguenot Tunnel. A tollgate controls this tunnel. A tollgate fee is payable at the tunnel.

The first town is Worcester set in the Breede River Valley. Taking the second turnoff to the right into Worcester, you leave the N1 and the Route 62 (R62) is taken. Follow the signs to the town of Robertson. Once through Robertson, the next town is Ashton. Travel on through Krogmanskloof and Montagu. Continue for approximately 43 km and turn left at “Die Vlakte” and Sanbona Wildlife Reserve sign. Please be advised that the road changes from tar to gravel and the recommended speed limit from there on is 60 km per hour. The main entrance to Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is 7 km where guests will be welcomed.

From the main gate, it is a further 45 minutes to Tilney Manor, 65 minutes to Dwyka Tented Lodge and 55 minutes to Gondwana Lodge. Please follow the relevant signs in the reserve. The recommended speed limit is 40 km per hour. Do not exit your vehicle. Predators roam free. The main gate closes at 18h00, should your arrival time be later, please advice prior to arrival in order to make arrangements. A daily transfer from the main gate to your lodge is available on request, and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance.

Arriving Guests

Pick-up from main gate at 12h30 - arrive at Tilney 13h15, at Gondwana 13h25, at Dwyka 13h35. Pick-up from main gate at 16h00 - arrive at Tilney 16h45, at Gondwana 16h55, at Dwyka 17h05 (these guests will not be able to join the afternoon game drive).

Departing Guests

Pick-up from Dwyka Tented Lodge at 11h00, Gondwana Lodge at 11h20, Tilney Manor at 11h35 - arrive at the main gate 12h15 PLEASE NOTE: All times are estimated and subject to road conditions and vehicle types.

By Air

Sanbona Wildlife Reserve is equipped with a private landing strip near the Bellair Dam. Air charters can be arranged with registered charter companies or private aircraft with overnight guests are welcome. Prior arrangements must be made with Sanbona Wildlife Reserve Management.
